BIG TEX TO MAKE 2000 DEBUT DECKED OUT IN DICKIES
Big Tex, the official ambassador of the State Fair of Texas, has his sights set on the future. The 52-ft. tall talking-and-waving cowboy will be Celebrating the 21st Century with an expected three-and-a-half million visitors later this year.
When a guy this big knew he needed durable yet comfortable clothing of course he turned to Texas based Dickies Workwear. Tex will be greeting first-time visitors and old fans alike in his red, blue and white cowboy shirt (size 100 180/181) and his Western-cut jeans (size 284W/185L). Aside from the oversized Dickies outfit, Big Tex also gets decked out in a pair of size 70 cowboy boots.
Big Tex Circle is where he has stood for most of his tenure as a State Fair spokesperson--he first appeared back in 1952. He's been talking since 1953 and in 1997 he adopted a distinctive wave. In spite of his bigger-than-life persona, Big Tex somehow remains cheerful and astonishingly down-to-earth.
If you want to personally visit one of the biggest Dickies fans on earth you can visit the State Fair of Texas runs from Friday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, October 22, 2000 in Dallas,Texas. For more information you can visit the fairs web site at http://www.bigtex.com.
