Rated 2 out of 5 by from " Don't make 'em like they used to I got this coat to replace a denim chore coat I bought from Dickies in 2015. It is not a terrible coat, but compared to my old coat from 2015 if falls short in almost every department. It is a Large size, the same as my old coat. But, the measurement across the shoulders is about 3/4 inch less in the new coat. That makes it harder to put on over a sweater, a sweatshirt, or a vest. Also, the old coat has a pleat on the back near to each arm. This allows for less restriction if you try to reach overhead. My old coat has bigger pockets, and they are angled so that it is easier to put your hands into them. I use the pockets a lot for tools and parts when doing chores. So, the old coat is better in the pocket department. The old coat has a zipper and snaps, compared to metal buttons on the new coat. The zipper is easier and faster to fasten. Being a chore coat, I spend a lot of time putting it on and taking it off. The old coat with the zipper saved me a lot of time, compared to the buttons on the new one. Also, sometimes I work on my car wearing a chore coat. My old coat was designed so that the metal snaps were not exposed on the front. So, it did not scratch the fender if I had to lean on the fender in order to reach something under the hood. Now, with the new coat, the exposed metal buttons will scratch my fenders. Furthermore, the metal buttons on the sleeves of the new coat tend to catch on the horn ring of my car. I must say, the denim fabric of the new coat looks good. It does seem to be of good quality, and a fairly good weight. But, the denim on my old coat was a heavier weight, so I have to expect that the new coat will wear out faster than my old one. In the insulation department, the new coat is actually better than the old one, IF you are just talking about raw insulation power. The lining of the new coat is something like simulated sheepskin, and I think it is so thick that it outperforms the polyester fiber insulation in my old coat. But, this improvement is not a great advancement. Just a little better. However the simulated sheepskin has some important drawbacks. The main one is friction. The old coat was lined with a high thread count nylon. That fabric is so slippery, the coat just glides on, even over something bulky and high-friction like a sweatshirt. But, trying to put the new coat on over a sweatshirt is a real struggle. The simulated sheepskin has such a high level of friction against the sweatshirt that the sweatshirt just bunches up around my shoulder blades. Of course, the 3/4 inch less shoulder space in the new coat only makes this problem worse. I complained a lot about the new coat. But, I was not able to find anything better from other sources. So, I guess this new coat from Dickies is about the best I can do. But, I know Dickies can (and did) do better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizing… runs long I’m 5 6” 140 lbs. Ordered a small. Jacket is too long (30 inches) but I got it tailored. Everything else fits about right for a small.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love - Hate love the jacket but each of the button holes has opened up due to stiching giving way and no longer stays buttened.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Narrow Shoulders I'm usually a medium, but I buy large for a bit of extra room, so I bought large in this jacket. I have many Dickies items, been buying for years. This jacket looks great and fits well in all areas except the shoulders. The shoulders are far too tight, even when wearing only a t-shirt, and I sized up. Forget about wearing your fav Dickies hoodie underneath, I tried, it's too tight on shoulders, can barely move. If this jacket was redesigned with wider more normal work wear shoulders, it would be great. FYI, I'm 5'/10", 180, in decent shape and would not consider myself to have "large shoulders".
