11" Relaxed Fit Lightweight Duck Carpenter Short is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pockets are not deep enough; runs a tad bit large I have worn Dickies shorts forever. My wife got me four for my birthday. I noted that the pockets have been made smaller than they used to be. The top corner of my wallet is sticking out on the new ones, which I don't like and may pose a security concern. They need to go back and make the pockets deeper like they used to.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't care for the fit I bought these for summer work wear, I do not like the way they fit. I have the correct size waist but It is difficult to get my hands in pockets. Also they ride so low on the waist every time I bend over they are sliding off my backside.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Near miss Ordered these shorts because a pair of cutoffs made from a pair of duck cloth carpenter pants are my favorite knock about shorts. 2 things make these lightweight duck cloth shorts less than ideal: 1. They are lighter weight than I expected. Compare in weight to a couple of golfing shorts I own. 2. They are smaller in the seat and waist than Dickies pants. Had to return them and order a size larger to get a satisfactory fit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from RELAXED ISNT SO RELAXED I HAVE ALWAYS WORN DICKIE SHORTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF HAVING A RUGGED MATERIAL THAT DOESN'T EASILY DETERIORATE. I KNOW I WILL BE SATISFIED IN THAT RESPECT, BUT I CANNOT GIVE THE "DUCK RELAXED" STYLE ANY POINTS FOR POINTS FOR COMFORT. THE INSIDE FRONT POCKETS EXPOSE THEMSELVES AND THE CROTCH CANNOT BE DEFINED COMFORTABLE AT ALL.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Shorts Ever Bought 3 pairs. The darker color is about 2 sizes smaller than the khaki color. So I can't wear them. Then the Khaki are so tight that I can barely bend over in them, and cannot get my hands in the pockets. Yet the waist size is perfect. Also the white inside of the pockets shows and it looks like the inside of your pocket is constantly coming out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lightweight for hot Summer work. I was happy to see that the carpenter shorts are now available in the lighter-weight fabric. The old shorts were made with the same heavy fabric that the carpenter jeans were made out of...tough wearing but hot. I've been wearing a couple the newer pairs for most of the Summer and they appear to be holding up well. While the fabric is thinner, it's pretty durable and releases stains well. The fabric also has some "stretch" in it. This extra stretch in the fabric makes the sizing run a little bit on the large side. I had to order the next size down because the size I typically wear was way to large. Finally, all the pockets on these shorts are way too small. The back pocket is almost unusable to carry a wallet and not have to worry about it falling out. The opening of the front pockets is too small and something as simple as getting some change out or your vehicle keys is aggravating because you can only put about three fingers in the pocket.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too tight! I ordered several pairs of 36" which in other Dickies I wear. These though? Don't know what their factory is up to. The hip and leg areas were TIGHT. So I sent them back. Waiting on a refund now. I love the look of them and the duck cloth, but they just were way too tight and not at all near 36" in size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyday is sunshine in these shorts... Love these shorts. I've been wearing the cargo style that dickies made years ago that had the same cut and weight...could not find the cargos anymore so I thought I would try the carpenter style... Love them... To bad that dickies does not make the cargo's anymore, but these are great...
