Fifteen year customer
I have been wearing Dickies sock for 15 years. When I started they were hands down the best socks available at an affordable price. They mostly still are but that's only because so so many socks are just plain lousy in one way or another. I prefer a heavyweight sock which is the main reason I chose Dickies 15 years ago. Their socks were easily the thickest everyday socks available. They lasted at least a year and stayed up fairly well. As the years went by the thickness and how well they stay up both went downhill. This latest purchase was to replace socks that didn't even last six month's before they start having holes in the heels. Also how well they stay up is not as good as 15 years ago. I imagine, like all manufactured products, the manufacturer looks for ways to reduce production cost which of course leads to a poorer version of the original product. I do not know what the fabric mix was in the socks from 15 years ago so I cannot compare to the current version. But I do know the weight and performance of them is not as good as when I first started using them. One thing I learned along the way was to not put them in the dryer. Machine drying makes them shrink and wear out faster. Fifteen years ago I would have given these five stars for sure. The three I gave them today is a reflection of what the quality has become. While Dickies socks are still better than most others in the same price range the level of "betterness" is not what it used to be.

Bad Quality
Bought a pack of these 2 months ago and they are already tearing above the heel when I put them on, also the bottom is worn thin and have holes. Definitely didn’t last near as long as other brands I’ve purchased.

Good socks, wanted thicker though.
They are the good quality I go to Dickies for, but I was anticipating a thicker, softer sock overall. They have good toe and heel enforcement. They are taller than I usually like and a little tight at the top. Maybe I need to order the next size up next time?

Disappointing socks
Dickies steel toe used to be the best socks I ever wore. Thick over foot, and loose enough over calf so that it was comfortable but still stayed up. I used to praise this sock as the best. Dickies has cheapened the sock. Over foot it is still thick and comfortable. But it is now so tight on the calf that it is painful and cuts off circulation. Why oh why did you ruin the perfect sock.

Not used as intended

Ware like steal
These socks last longer than normal socks. I work in heavy industry where I wear rubber boots. The sweat & air tight design destroys socks but these hold up to the punishment.
