the 34 and 36 inch waist feel identical, sadly. the area below the waist is very tight and small. not comfortable.

The shorts I was sent were listed as Relaxed Fit, which for me...typically means they'll be loose fitting...

Unexpected problem with fit
The fabric and construction quality is excellent. Only problem is with fit. They tend to bunch into a horizontal pleat at the top of the fly which makes them difficult to zip up. Also it would be better if the pocket on the right leg were big enough for a cell phone .

These shorts are better than the last type I had. These are made out of a heavier denim and are a more tru fit. Phone still doesn’t fit in side pocket but I usually carry mine in the back. Great shorts. I didn’t think good quality existed any more. Especially under 20 bucks
